Something random,
I clocked 10,000 followers on twitter today and I randomly remembered my friend’s post titled “If 10,000 People Are Following You, will you look back?…“.
I was at an award ceremony yesterday and I met different people, different big, influential people who knew me, either by name, or by face or both.
Most of them said the same range of statements when they wanted to greet me;
’You are the HR Guy, right?,
Are you the HR Guy?’
You spoke at this xyz event, right,
You taught the founders at this gathering right’?
It was humbling, it was overwhelming. It reminded me of my definition of branding- being an entity with a unique identity.
Anyways, that was an intro, I didn’t plan to write it so enjoy the sumptuous appetizer.
Now, to the main course.
I wanted to do an introduction after clocking 10k followers and I realised how tasking it was. Because I am one of those people that DDK* will call a multi-expressive person with a multi-influential flow, I am used to writing different bio of myself.
For instance, in the last three months, I have had to write a bio for a literary gathering where I was the invited guest, an international podcast on women football where I was being a sport commentator covering women football matches across the globe, and of course, for a speaking engagement where I was teaching founders how to build the best HR practices.
Can you see? Three different settings, three different bios. That’s the life that chose me.
Anyways, despite this variation, I found it a fascinating challenge to describe myself in 50 words, but I came up with this.
Let me know what you think.
You know, a random task I used to do when I just started out my career and personal branding, was to write different bios and asked my virtual assistant which one she thought was better.I probably should go back to doing that.
Have you written your bio recently? What does it look like?
You can write one and share me the link. You honestly don’t have to be a speaker to have a bio. It helps you sell yourself coherently and aggregate your achievements, while measuring your journey.
I’d review the first ten entries I get FOR FREE. News says I write the best bios.
Ask around, it might be true 😎
As the habit is:
Books to read:
I haven’t read anything new in the last two weeks, I worry I might be experiencing a reading slump. Please recommend me something quick and easy to read.
Movies to watch:
I am still binging “Kill me, Love me“. New episodes drop by Midnight.
Songs to listen to:
What it is- Doechi ft Kodak Blak
King Jesus- KB et all (this is the most melodious medley you’d listen to this week, I promise)
Jackie Hill Perry- First Draft.

If you are single, why are you single? Do you have a spec? What would the person look like?
Okay.. let me give this a shot.
My name is Temitope Bolawole, a storyteller. I tell stories of people, brands and products.
I’m a serial entrepreneur with one surviving business focused on making contemporary tie dye. In another world, I’d be an insanely good full time house cleaner. But for now, I annoy my friends with my obsession with tidiness. I have mastered the art of cooking Smokey Jollof and well seasoned chicken.
In the future, I will be the Queen of fictional love stories through print books and movies.
Huhmn. I love that phrase by DDK: "a multi-expressive person with a multi-influential flow".
Like you, I have also had several bios in the past considering my multiple interests in (content creation, health and wellness, faith, personal and professional development, etc) and I kept editing them, but earlier in the year, I changed it to "Sharing while learning, leading while growing. #dynamic_unique_outstanding by nature"
It just felt easier. I'm open to a review though.😊 Thank you for this newsletter.
