Spin Again
There is still a lot of time, or some time at least.
In the most unpredictable way, earlier this week, I remembered my friend telling me to spin again.
Okay, let’s rewind a bit.
If you use Chowdeck, you probably know the feature I am about to reference. Every time you order on Chowdeck, you have the chance to Spin to get a discount.
The discount ranges from 5% to 70%, and of course, there are interesting cards like
Spin Again, No Discount, Nothing etc.
Like every good thing in life, it is hard to get the discount, and harder to get a sizeable discount. Thus , whenever I get any discount from 5% and above, I exit and checkout, especially because you can only spin twice.
Last week, my friend, K paid me a visit, and while we were about to order Chowdeck, I spinned , got 5%, and wanted to keep things moving, and she said…
Spin again.
For me, it was always a case of a bird in hand is the only bird -nothing dey bush, but K, who is a more adventurous risk-taker forced me to spin again, and guess who got 30% discount, yes, that’s me!
Since then, whenever I spin, I exhaust all the spins (at least four), instead of settling for first one I see.
I was going to order again today, and when I got 5% at first trial, Nothing on second trial, spin again on the third trial, I wanted to give up.
Guess who got 30% at the fourth trial?
Yes, that’s me!
This taught me a lesson…
SPIN AGAIN.
Yes, spinning is stressful, and exhausting, and tasking, and demanding, and uncertain because you might get nothing (or get a rejection mail), or get Try again, but you might also get 30% or 50% or 70% as a twitter user did, or Free food (I heard someone once won this and I am so jealous of the person)
Guess what’s more interesting?
Unlike Chowdeck, with life, there are no limits. You can spin as much as you want, and as frequently as your resilience and tenacity can carry you.
As May wraps up and you begin to plan for a new month (and we approach mid-year), I wish you the courage to Spin again.
P:S- Earlier this week, I was ranked as one of the TOP 100 HR Leaders in Africa, and I felt to share this win with you.

The average person will change careers 5 to 7 times in their lifetime. Career pivots are no longer signs of confusion; they’re signs of growth and adaptability. Feel free to spin again.

Really love the idea of Spinning Again. Thank you for this and for the analogy as well.
I hope you enjoy Intermezzo and congrats on making the list.
Omgggg. Congratulationsssssss🥺😭❤️ This is so beautiful
